Frequently asked questions

Is the citation generator free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how often you use it.

Can it read the details straight from my PDF?

Autofill reads the PDF's own embedded title and author metadata, which many PDFs leave blank or set to something generic like "Microsoft Word." Treat it as a convenience starting point, not something to trust without checking -- the fields stay fully editable.

Does this cover books and websites too?

Not yet -- this version is built for journal articles specifically, the most common academic citation need. Book and website support may come later.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Autofill reads the PDF entirely on your device -- nothing is uploaded.

Does this work on mobile?

Yes -- it works in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or desktop, with no app to install.
