Frequently asked questions
Is summarizing a PDF free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how often you use it.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
The PDF file itself never leaves your device -- its text is extracted locally first. Only that extracted text is sent to generate the summary, and it isn't stored anywhere after the request completes.
Is there a length limit?
Very long documents are summarized from roughly their first 60,000 characters (about 30-40 typical pages) rather than the whole thing, to keep this feature free.
Does this work on scanned PDFs?
Yes -- pages with no text layer are read with free on-device OCR automatically before summarizing, same as the PDF to Text tool.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes -- it works in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or desktop, with no app to install.
