Document AI: Extraction, Summarization & Ask AI
Scanquil's AI tools go beyond plain OCR -- pulling structured tables, form fields, and invoice data out of a document, or answering questions about it directly. Some run on an image for a small per-page fee; others work from text already extracted on-device and stay free.
Extract structured data
Point these at a scanned table, form, invoice, or receipt and get back the actual fields or rows -- not just a wall of text -- ready to drop into a spreadsheet.
Convert with AI-level accuracy
For scans the free on-device engine misreads -- skewed photos, dense print, low contrast -- these send just that one file to a cloud OCR provider for a better result.
Understand a document, free
These work from text already extracted on-device, not an image, so they carry no per-use charge. Summarize PDF distills a document to its key points; Flashcard Generator turns it into study Q&A; Document Summarizer produces key-point cards. Ask AI, from inside any group, answers specific questions grounded in that group's text -- with clickable citations pointing back to the exact page an answer came from.
Just need plain text?
For straightforward OCR without structured extraction, see the OCR hub.
How pricing works
Paid tools charge per page, shown on the button itself before you tap it -- the price reflects the underlying AI provider's actual cost plus a small margin, a payment processing fee, and GST. There's no subscription or stored balance, and a failed request is refunded automatically. The full breakdown of what's free versus paid, and exactly what each tool sends, is on the privacy page.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between OCR and Document AI?
OCR turns an image into plain text. Document AI goes further -- it understands structure, pulling out table rows, form fields, or invoice totals as distinct data, or answering a specific question about a document instead of just transcribing it. See the OCR hub for the plain-text tools.
Do I need to pay for all of this?
No -- Summarize PDF, Flashcard Generator, Document Summarizer, and Ask AI are free, since they work from text already extracted on-device. Only the tools that process an image directly (table/form/invoice extraction, AI OCR) are pay-per-use.
Is my document used to train any AI model?
No -- each request is processed for that one result and not retained or used for training. See the privacy page for exactly what's sent per tool.
